The History

Before the wonderful Margaret and Karine ran Christophes Hair & Beauty, it was Jean 'Christophe' Alexandre Christofides who made his name in the industry, starting in Monaco.

The Full Story

Jean Alexandre Christofides, AKA, Christophe was born on 24th February 1945.

Deciding to work within the hairdressing profession, Christophe moved to Paris to attend L'Oréal Professional Paris where he studied and qualified in Hairdressing and Health.

Later, Christophe opened his own salon in Monte Carlo. Home to the rich and famous, Monte Carlo was a bustling hub of stardom and Christophe's salon was no exception with celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor and many others visiting frequently to get the best cut and style around.

Wanting to expand his business, Christophe moved to England from Monte Carlo in 1970 and opened his first UK salon in the quaint Old High Street in Folkestone, Kent. With an excellent reputation and well-earned success, Christophe opened two more salons, one in Ashford and one in Maidstone -  as well as pursuing a joint endevour with a salon in Paris.

Known for his incredible haircuts, extensive knowledge and experience plus phenomenal creativity and technique with colour, Christophe was continuously proving that he was ahead of the latest trends and innovating new fashion.

Over the years, Christophe's client base continued to grown exponentially and he continued to provide excellent services alongside a friendly and approachable demeanor.

Sadly, Christophe passed away on 31st October 2020, however, his wife Margaret and daughter Karine have continued the salon in Ashford and are creating a legacy Christophe would be immensely proud of.

In Loving Memory
